Ghost suspension warning light appeared out of nowhere
I was driving back from Abu Dhabi last night, cruising along nicely on the autopilot, when suddenly this amber warning light popped up on the dash saying something about the ride height system and honestly my heart sank because I know these cars aren't exactly cheap to fix when it comes to the suspension components. The car seemed to drive fine for the rest of the journey, no obvious bouncing or unevenness, but when I parked and turned off the engine I could hear the compressor running for way longer than usual, maybe a good 30 seconds before it finally stopped, which makes me think there's a slow leak somewhere that the system is trying to compensate for. I've only had the car for about eight months and I really don't want to start down the path of endless repairs, but at the same time I can't just ignore it because I use this car for VIP transfers and a breakdown would be absolutely disastrous for my reputation. A few of the other chauffeurs I know have mentioned that they take their cars to a specialist who understands these intricate pneumatic systems, and I've been doing some research online trying to find a place that doesn't treat Rolls Royce owners like walking ATMs. I actually came across https://suspensionrepairdubai.ae/rolls-royce-suspension-repair/ while searching for solutions and it seems like they have experience with the exact type of issue I'm facing, but I wanted to see if anyone here has firsthand experience with these sorts of warning lights and whether it turned out to be something minor like a faulty sensor or if it ended up being a full strut replacement situation. The car only has about 65,000 kms on the clock which seems early for major suspension work, but then again the heat here does terrible things to rubber seals and air lines. I'm planning to get it checked out this week before the problem escalates, because I've heard stories about the compressor burning out if it keeps running constantly to maintain pressure, and that would turn a manageable repair into something much more painful financially. If anyone has gone through something similar with their Phantom or Ghost, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience and what the eventual fix ended up costing, just so I have some realistic expectations before I walk into the workshop.
